Hello, does the machine make rather loud pumping/knocking noises at the end of the brewing process on all or is my machine defective?

Helpful answer
This is normal and typical for a filter coffee machine. The louder noises at the end of the brewing process (which my Braun also makes) are caused by the evaporation of residual water. Due to their system, filter coffee machines do not need a pump; heating the water is sufficient for the brewing process.
