Instead of using distilled water, can I also decalcify the water with a filter (e.g. from Laurastar)? Distilled water is not without its problems!

We decalcify the water with a Britta filter (and have very hard water), so far we have no problems with it. We are very happy with the steam station, it is extremely quiet, and efficient!
