TFA WeatherHub
TFA WeatherHub
The device seems to offer a lot. How far can I transmit in the house? What about walls? Is it possible to integrate the device into a KNX home automation system?
No, a future integration is not planned to date.
Good day
If we have problems due to electronic and/or radio interference, can we send the device back and have the purchase price refunded?
We seem to have quite thick walls or other interference (we live 200m from the airport as the crow flies) so even the strongest wifi tends to go out. Thank you!
Depending on the model, the radio technology of the WeatherHub transmitters has a range of up to 100 or 200 metres in free field.
However, the actual range can only be assessed with certainty after a practical test, as it is not possible to know in advance which local factors (visible and non-visible [electronic] obstacles) will impair reception and to what extent.
A reinforced concrete wall or ceiling can certainly be overcome, but is in any case an obstacle that significantly reduces the radio range. Depending on the distance and other factors, a reinforced concrete wall can also become a problem, but not necessarily.
With some customers/locations, there is still a stable radio connection even at 80 metres as the crow flies and with several walls in between.
With other customers/locations, however, there are difficulties even at 30 metres as the crow flies and with only one wall in between, because electronic and radio interference also have a massive influence.
As I said, it always depends on a practical test to be able to judge the actual radio range on site.
The devices are not designed to be integrated into your own applications/products.
Integration into a third-party SmartHome system is not possible.
With kind regards
