I am 1.96m tall, does this still fit for me? Is it necessary to pay attention to generations of this model when buying? Can any heart rate belt be used or does a special one have to be used? Is there by any chance an Ipad holder as an accessory?

Addendum: I am 1.87 m tall, I still have enough room in the back, so that should also fit you.

You need the Heartbeat receiver from First Degree Fitness to recognise a heart rate sensor (I use the Polar H9). Basically, you can use any heart rate sensor that transmits at 5Khz (note, not Bluetooth, the sensor must transmit at this frequency, older sensors cannot do this). Row diligently ;-)

The size should not be a problem. The rowing computer does not work on my device. Could not connect to the heart rate belt.
