Without soot or odors. This fuel consists of pure diethylene glycol (DEG), which is also used as an antifreeze in radiators. By using a wick, the DEG can be vaporized and burned despite its relatively high flash point of 143 °C. Hendi sells this fuel in sealed, non-refillable metal cans of 145 or 200 grams. The burning time of a can is inversely proportional to the intensity of its flame, which can be adjusted by changing the exposed height of the wick. Application: Place the cans with the liquid fuel directly under the chafing dish or warming device in the designated holder. Burning time: approximately 4 hours for 145 g cans, approximately 6 hours for 198 g and 200 g cans. Burns without smoke or odor. Heating performance: about 50% compared to the fuel paste. Advantages compared to the fuel paste: very safe, can be reused multiple times since the cans are resealable, the cans do not get hot and can therefore be used without a fuel paste holder, the cans are safer because if the can falls, the flame does not behave differently, the flame can be easily extinguished by blowing it out or placing the lid on, cost per hour comparable to fuel paste, burns not as hot as fuel paste and thus prevents the water from boiling or the water pan of the chafing dish from boiling dry. Warning: Diethylene glycol is a dangerous irritant. Therefore, wear latex gloves and wash your hands after adjusting the wick or having direct contact with the liquid.
