The SkinnyHeat heating mat from Romberg is excellent for use in indoor grow tents. It is particularly beneficial for grow boxes located in climatically suboptimal areas (e.g., unheated floors, basements), as the SkinnyHeat significantly contributes to a favorable growing climate. The focus is especially on night and root temperatures. While sufficient warmth is usually generated during the day through artificial lighting, there is a risk at night that temperatures may drop to a level where the root area cools down, causing the plants to reduce their metabolic activities. The result is noticeably slower growth and potentially significant yield losses. Even when all other factors (e.g., light quantity, ventilation, watering, nutrient supply) are in good condition, neglecting soil temperature can lead to relatively poor growing results.

To prevent this, the SkinnyHeat heating mat is simply placed between the tent floor and the insert and connected to a thermostat (not included). The temperature sensor should ideally be positioned in the center of the insert or in a side drainage hole of a pot (in the growing medium).
