The MIG/MAG welding wire T-PUT UNION AI Mg 5 from Thyssen is a high-quality aluminum welding filler material specifically designed for MIG welding of aluminum-magnesium alloys. With a standard designation of EN ISO 18273 S Al 5356 (Al Mg 5), this welding wire is ideal for applications requiring high strength and corrosion resistance. The wire has a diameter of 1.2 mm and is supplied in a convenient spool weighing 7 kg. The welding wire is seawater-resistant, making it particularly suitable for marine applications. To achieve optimal welding results, the workpiece edges should be thoroughly cleaned, and thick plates should be preheated to 150 °C. The use of 100% argon as a shielding gas ensures a clean and stable weld seam.
