An air-only pump, also called a low-pressure pump, is not suitable for inflating a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) because it does not have the pressure capacity to inflate the SUP to the required level. Stand-up paddleboards require a high-pressure pump that can inflate the board to at least 12-15 PSI (pounds per square inch) to support the weight of a person on the water. In contrast, pure volume air pumps are designed for low pressure inflatables, such as pool toys and air mattresses, which typically require only a few PSI to inflate. The EasyInflate 18V-500 is a pure volume air pump with a max. air flow of 530l/min, which can only build up a little pressure (1 PSI).
