Japanese Dice Set: Sweet Spring Memory

The origin story of the Japanese dice set is heavily influenced by the virtues derived from the ancient traditions of the samurai, which are primarily known in the West in a beautified, romanticized version. This is more than enough to transfer certain elements into our time and create an image of the samurai who is not only skilled in battle but also possesses an unwavering will, relentless self-discipline, and a strong value system. According to the Bushido code, these noble warriors exemplified what every man and woman should aspire to in their lives.

The Bushido code is represented by seven main virtues, originally known as Gi, Rei, Yu, Meiyo, Jin, Makoto, and Chu—translated as: Integrity, Respect, Courage, Honor, Compassion, Honesty, and Loyalty. We wanted our Japanese dice to reflect these virtues in a subtle yet meaningful way. Knowing that our fans have a great imagination, we allow ourselves the following interpretation.

Sweet Spring Memory is a set that embodies the virtues of the Bushido code by promoting honesty and compassion. By staying true to ourselves and engaging with what we are currently experiencing, we can develop a deep understanding of others. Through our own experiences and memories, we can empathize with others and show the compassion we all need. This is also the message behind the pink material and white engravings: The sweetness of spring warmth resonates in our memory every time we see cherry blossoms.

The first appearance of the Japanese dice design created a real hype among Q Workshop fans, who eagerly awaited a re-release.
