Based on the French electric locomotive BB 7200, the NS received the four-axle electric locomotives of the series 1600. When introduced in 1981, they were the strongest locomotives in the NS fleet. With a service weight of 83 tons, they delivered 4,540 kW and reached a maximum speed of 140 km/h. The logistics provider Raillogix also operates locomotives from the former fleet of the Dutch State Railways. The company organizes rail transport for various goods such as containers, metals, bulk goods, and consumer products.
