When viewed from the side, a Tennessee Walker's legs do not stand straight on the ground, but rather at an angle. This is particularly noticeable in the hind legs. The position of its legs allows it to perform its unique gaits: Walk, Running Walk, and Canter. Many Tennessee Walker horses have tails that are so long they reach the ground.
