Product details

Prototype: Express steam locomotive with tender of class A3. Designed as museum locomotive 60103. Current operational appearance from 1963 with corridor tender and wind deflectors, as the locomotive is currently operational at the National Railway Museum in York. Model: Equipped with digital decoder mfx and extensive light and sound functions. Regulated high-performance drive with flywheel in the boiler. 3 axles driven. Traction tires. Locomotive and tender largely made of metal. Factory-installed smoke unit with speed-dependent, dynamic smoke emission, digitally switchable. Direction-dependent two-light front signal on the locomotive and one lamp on the tender's rear, conventionally operated, digitally switchable. The lamp on the tender's rear can be switched to red light. A third front light on the locomotive can be separately switched on and to red illumination as an electric lamp. Cab lighting and firebox flickering are digitally switchable. Tender passage lighting is digitally switchable. Lighting with maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs. Adjustable close coupling with kinematics between locomotive and tender. Kinematically guided close coupling with NEM pocket on the tender. Buffer height at locomotive and tender according to NEM. Brake hoses, screw coupling imitations, and closed cylinder covers are included. Length over buffers approximately 24.5 cm. This model is available in alternating current version in the Märklin H0 range under item number 39968. Major operation: The Flying Scotsman. A name that sparks the imagination. "Flying Scotsman" was the daily 10:00 AM service between London and Edinburgh, existing since 1862. However, from 1924, a steam locomotive also bore this name. It belonged to the Pacific-Class A1, the strongest locomotives in use at the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) at the time. It was developed by Nigel Gresley, chief designer of the LNER.
