The Binz-KTW on the first E-Class chassis. No other model series so clearly represents the desire for change at WIKING as the first E-Class during the transitional years of the late 1980s. Now, we have a reunion with a very special E-Class specialist. The first E-Class enjoyed such a strong following at WIKING that a brand new ambulance was built on the same chassis. Of course, just like its predecessor, it follows the design of the Lorcher Binz coachbuilders. Many of the KTWs used for patient transport were still in service two decades later and received updated designs. Particularly in the 1990s, the use of day-glow red became popular for emergency vehicles and was often enhanced with additional warning designs.
