5. Ghenos Games Aeon's End Second Edition
Your goal is to defeat the Nemesis before your home, Gravehold, is overwhelmed or you exhaust your powers. In each round, players and the Nemesis take turns acting in a random order. During their turn, players can cast spells, acquire new gems, relics, and spells from the supply, manipulate breaches, and use their special abilities. Each of the four Nemeses in the game is unique and performs different actions. Therefore, players must adjust their strategies from time to time to maintain the upper hand. The turn order is determined by a special deck that indicates who among the players or the Nemesis is taking their turn. Players cast prepared spells on an open breach, play and gain cards, manipulate breaches, and apply the effects of the cards. The Nemesis applies the effects of minions and powers, draws a card to attack, plays immediate effects, or saves them for future effects. Players win when the Nemesis's deck is exhausted and the Nemesis has no life points left. Players lose if they or Gravehold have no life points remaining.
