Oral measurement - Measurement under the tongue. Use the fever thermometer to measure your body temperature in the oral cavity. The best place for an oral measurement is under the tongue. You should also avoid eating or drinking anything warm for ten minutes prior to the measurement to obtain an accurate result.
Rectal measurement - Measurement in the rectum. Take the measurement rectally with the fever thermometer. This method provides an accurate and reliable result, especially for infants and children. Insert the fever thermometer up to two centimeters into the rectum. To avoid injury, you should lubricate the tip of the thermometer (for example, with petroleum jelly). As a general rule, a temperature of 39 °C indicates a fever, and 40 °C indicates high fever.
Axillary measurement - Measurement under the armpit. The most common method for determining body temperature is the measurement under the armpit. During the measurement process, make sure to press the upper arm tightly against the body and avoid moving as much as possible to obtain an accurate result.
