I put my Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor on it. The scale shows 0.4kg, which is close to the actual 437 grams (on Soehnle household scales). So yes, it works, but it's not precise.

Leifheit (Soehnle is a Leifheit brand) says on their website: "Please note that bathroom scales only display reliable weight values from a weight of over 10 kg!"
