    Samsung repair TV

Is it worth repairing a Samsung TV? I asked the Galaxus Info Team this question. Unfortunately, no information is given here about possible prices. This means that a repair will definitely incur costs. I am happy to describe my personal case here: Device Samsung QE50Q60T50", QLED, VA, 4K, 2020 bought on 21.04.2021 for 599.- Defect reported 20.11.2023 approx. 2.5 years in use. The picture no longer worked. Warranty expired. Service Galaxus: It needs pictures of the device, and if possible the original packaging. Very quick collection from home on 27.11.2023 after only one week Cost estimate from the Samsung service centre on 8.12.2023: Work to be carried out Replace display Repair costs/replacement costs from the service centre: CHF 522.35 Unrepaired return including analysis costs of the service centre: CHF 123.86 Disposal including analysis costs of the service centre: CHF 80.78 After enquiry about the high price of the repair approx. 400.- or 2/3 of the new price. No detailed quotation could be provided by Galaxus. No renegotiation with the service centre. I have decided not to have the TV repaired and will pay the CHF 80 for disposal and analysis. Personally, I am satisfied with the employees of Galaxus, but very disappointed with the performance of the Samsung service centre. I don't think sustainable consumer behaviour, including repairs, is promoted here. What are your experiences with Samsung TV repairs?

Samsung is petty about warranty claims

Why I would be sceptical about Samsung is because it seems like there is a system behind denying warranty claims for defects. My micro USB port was defective within the warranty period. Samsung claims that this is not covered by the warranty because of external influences. I can't say much against that, yes, the USB port is used to plug in a USB cable from the outside, that's what it's meant for, and that's why I see it as a warranty case. As you could read in the media recently, others seem to have problems with the Samsung Repair Centre. Maybe other manufacturers do the same, I can't judge. But the fact is that Samsung, even though it is a global player and could be a bit more customer-friendly, is very reluctant to deal with warranty claims. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get justice in the case of such a refusal, and you can't expect the seller to support you either, or it is not usual...
