The Pop Mouse is slowly becoming my favourite desktop mouse

I initially bought the Logitech Pop Mouse to accompany me when I was out and about. Yet it’s now become my no. 1 desktop mouse.

I’ve had Logitech’s Pop Mouse for three years now. It’s small, has a quiet click, two programmable buttons, and – in addition to an on/off switch on the bottom – a button that allows you to switch between three paired Bluetooth devices. It’s a bit of a shame that the manufacturer no longer offers them in all colour options.

For example, my yellow version is no longer available:

Fortunately, the dark version of the mouse looks pretty good, too. If I were to choose one now, it’d be this one or the white one.

Ergonomically, everything works well for me, but there aren’t quite enough buttons

Compared to larger mice, when I use the Pop Mouse, my hand mostly rests on the table while my fingers do the moving. This helps, since I sometimes have trouble with tendonitis from typing so much. Weighing just 82 grammes and featuring a tapered design, the mouse adds very little extra weight.

When you’ve put the AA battery in, it weighs 81.8 grammes.

If you choose this mouse, which is just 10.5 cm long, 5.9 cm wide, and 3.5 cm tall, you’ll have to do without thumb buttons. Since I mainly use it for work, the four buttons it has are enough for me. But I wouldn’t want to be without the forward and back buttons. Therefore, I assign these two functions to the scroll wheel and the button behind it in the Logi Options+ software.

One thing I won’t compromise on is the back-and-forth buttons.

What I appreciate is that the left and right mouse buttons activate with just a light touch and provide clear tactile feedback. What I like even more is that you can barely hear them. Quiet clicks make work more relaxing. The scroll wheel feels just as smooth. It rotates smoothly and provides brief, tactile feedback.

Stores 3 Bluetooth connections, battery seems to last forever

There are two additional controls on the bottom: an on/off switch and a button to switch between the three Bluetooth pairings. Until recently, I used a different mouse for my desktop computer than for my laptop. However, the cable on my Logitech G Pro was bothering me, so now I only use the Pop Mouse.

I like things to be simple, which is why I really appreciate being able to switch between devices quickly.

So far, the Bluetooth pairing has always worked right away and without any interruptions. The fact that the mouse runs on an AA battery rather than a rechargeable battery doesn’t bother me at all. The battery lasts a very long time – one to one and a half years in my case.

In a nutshell

I wouldn’t give away my yellow Pop Mouse now

Logitech’s Pop Mouse is small, quiet, light and can remember up to three device pairings. On top of that, the battery life is quite long with a single AA battery. You’ll forget when you last changed it.

For anyone with mid-sized hands or smaller, I can wholeheartedly recommend this mouse. Unless two programmable buttons aren’t enough for you. Thanks to its design, the mouse is suitable for both left- and right-handed users. The right and left mouse buttons are easy to press; the scroll wheel, like the buttons, provides good tactile feedback and scrolls smoothly and evenly.

I find my muse in everything. When I don’t, I draw inspiration from daydreaming. After all, if you dream, you don’t sleep through life.
