Circular Polarizing Filter

A polarizing filter allows rays to pass through only from one direction. This prevents reflections on non-metallic surfaces such as water, glasses, or shop windows. In nature, reflected light rays can also cause dull colors and less vibrant images in landscape photography. With a polarizing filter, you can eliminate distracting reflections and enhance the color saturation of your shots.

Why do you need a DHG filter for your digital camera?

Digital cameras have a CCD or CMOS image sensor that converts light into digital impulses. The sensor is very sensitive and is protected by a filter glass. This glass is positioned directly in front of the chip and has a highly reflective surface. As a result, some of the incoming light is reflected back by the filter glass. This light must then exit the lens in a straight line, which is ensured by the multi-coating of the lens.

When using a filter on the lens, not only must the front side of the filter be of high quality, but also the back side. Otherwise, there is a risk of loss of contrast and brilliance, as well as blurriness. This is not necessary for filters used with analog cameras. Therefore, you should always use a DÖRR Digital High Grade filter on your digital camera.

DÖRR DHG polarizing filters have the following features:

  • very high-quality optical glass
  • circular (required for all digital cameras and all SLR cameras with TTL metering)
  • slim filter frame - prevents vignetting in wide-angle shots
  • filter frame made of black satin-finished metal - prevents reflections
  • glass edges internally coated black - prevents reflections
  • front and back DHG multi-coated - allows over 99.5% light transmission!
  • front thread
  • Made in Japan.
