Cat.5e cable designed for operating frequencies up to 100MHz. With its overall shielding implemented as foil shielding (F/UTP), this cable type has reliably served in many installations for decades in both the prosumer and professional segments, as it can be used without issues for Gigabit Ethernet. The cables are individually packaged in a polybag.

The gold-plated contacts ensure reliable, corrosion-free connections over very long periods. The snagless clip protection prevents the breaking or tearing of the locking clip on the connector, allowing the cables to be stored and handled without getting tangled with the clips.

The high frequencies used in networking technology cause high current loads in the outer layers of the conductors due to the skin effect, while the conductor cores are only very lightly loaded electrically. This allows for the use of conductor material made from copper-clad aluminum (CCA), making this cable significantly more cost-effective compared to pure copper cables.
