Product details
E-P7 Pancake Zoom Kit wht/slv (E-P7 white + EZ-M1442EZ silver - includes battery and strap) The PEN series camera impresses with its stylish design and the highest image quality. The core of the excellent performance of the E-P7 is a combination of sensor technology, image processing, and class-leading 5-axis image stabilization paired with high-quality optical performance. This ensures smooth operation, fast focus speeds, and clever creative features that have not been available in this camera class before. This model features a new 20-megapixel image sensor and the same powerful TruePic VIII image processing engine found in high-end models. This is the first PEN to additionally feature in-body 5-axis image stabilization with compensation of up to 4.5 EV stops.

The Olympus Pen E-P7 is a classically designed pen with modern features. With its 20 megapixel sensor and image stabilisation, it has important features and can also compete with some OM-D cameras. However, it doesn't have a viewfinder - if you need one, you should perhaps take a look at the OM-D E-M10 Mark IV, which is available at a comparable price...

With simple operation despite many setting options and good photo quality, the Olympus Pen E-P7 just manages to get a good grade. However, action fans would be better off with a different camera - the autofocus is responsive and accurate, but the focus tracking is not convincing.
Good small system camera without viewfinder. Especially good in the eye test. Good monitor to fold (by 260 degrees), fast camera, light and relatively flat for a system camera without lens, many extras and functions.
In terms of image quality, the E-P7 is not surprising. It reaches the typical level of a 20 MP Olympus camera, but can overtake the technology donor E-M10IV in the end thanks to optimisation of the signal processing. The camera delivers good quality up to ISO 800, but loses ground from ISO 1600...
