It has a backplate and in my case the card will be water cooled, but if you want to convert to water cooling you need a different backplate because the cooler sits too loosely with the standard one. e.g. in Battlefield 5 it won't get hotter than 80C and mostly not over 70C. It is actually quiet but does not have this feature that the fans switch off below 55C.

Unfortunately, we cannot answer this question because we have not been able to try it out in such a form. However, I'll put the question in the community, maybe a user can help you :-)

I think that the non-existent information in the specifications is the reason for this.
