Hello there, 1.) Yes you can switch off the wireless, WIFI connection and you can connect your device via Ethernet. Personaly I prefer this method too. Altough your phone or Ipad etc going to connect to your router via wireless, and that is the way to control your WiiM Pro Plus by the App. ( The Wiim Pro Plus and your phone must be on the same network ) 2.) The remote is working via Bluetooth, which is excellent, so you can not turn off the Bluetooth totally, but that is does not hurt. That is a very good streamer, but of course there are much better ones for much more than x times the price.

I am totally happy with my pro plus. It took some time getting the remote accepted. But now all OK.
