The story of Ivalice – a kingdom that shines under the light of the gods and the rule of the two-headed lion. A year had passed since the defeat against the neighboring country of Ordallia in the Fifty Years' War. After the king died from an illness, the two-year-old prince was to govern the land from then on. In the dispute over his guardianship, two esteemed generals faced each other, both of whom had made a name for themselves in numerous battles of the recent war: the Black Lion, Duke Goltanna, and the White Lion, Duke Larg, whose coats of arms each featured the eponymous animal. The conflict between these ambitious lords would go down in history as the Lion War. Amidst this turbulent era lived two young men: Ramza, a scion of the esteemed knightly family Beoulve, and Delita, who came from humble beginnings and had grown up alongside the noble Ramza. They too would be swept up in the relentless tide of events on their journey.
