They can be cut (shortened) at the designated points. However, this is not recognised in the app, so that all sectors are still displayed.
Cutting and reconnecting the cut parts with a connector (e.g. for different levels on a shelf) is not easy with this version. There are other LED Stripes from Govee and corresponding connectors for this.
