Hi
Gaming, buy an i5... Enough. i7 you only need if you: Use programs that support more than 4 cores, e.g. in virtualisation, video editing, image editing etc.: Virtualisation, Video Editing, Image Editing etc.
Most games support between 1-2 or sometimes even 4 cores.
That's why it's better to get an i5 (my recommendation).

Yes, I recommend the 5930k, which has more power, but costs more.
I have the 5930k LGA 2011v3 installed and am very satisfied, but these processors need enough memory, and a top motherboard so that they bring full performance!
I run it with a lot of RAM and the best motherboard there is and with radon pro duo , PS all water cooled because air coolers are not strong enough for full performance , and my system is according to benchmark number one unbeaten in all gamer pcs where there is .
so if it's financially possible for you I would recommend the 5930!!! what kind of motherboard do you want to use with it ????
