On this board, the second PCIE connection has a greater distance to the first. Can I therefore install a second card in the second slot if a 4-slot 4090 is already installed in the first slot? Unfortunately, I can't find any information on how many centimetres apart the slots are. Thank you!

With a 4-slot graphics card, you can use a network, sound or other 1-slot card on the lowest MOBO connector.
I found a photo showing the configuration with a 4-slot card (albeit hard to see) and you can see that only the last slot can be used comfortably without blocking the GPU fans: https://cdna.pcpartpicker.com/static...
