This means that the baby does not have to suck as hard. The teat is equipped with a valve that releases air as soon as the baby encloses the teat in its mouth. This flattens the teat and allows it to adapt naturally to the baby's oral cavity. The round, lightweight shield curves away from the delicate and sensitive skin around the baby's mouth.
