Inspired by Danish Hygge, designer Simon Legald created the Hyg furniture series. When the series was launched in 2018, it included a two-seater sofa, lounge chairs, and an ottoman. In 2020, the series was expanded to include a chair and a bar stool that share the characteristics of the lounge series: hearty, organic curves designed with a focus on elevated comfort. The concept of Hygge revolves around feeling good—security, warmth, and comfort are part of its DNA, and these very qualities form the foundation of the Hyg collection. With the new models, the range—and the coziness—continues to unfold, creating new opportunities to establish cohesive environments with dining and lounge areas. "The moments when we sit together, engage in conversations, and share a meal—that is, for me, the pinnacle of the Hygge feeling. It made sense that the Hygge collection should also provide the framework for such moments. The feeling of Hygge is not only connected to the visual experience of the design but lies in the entire sensory experience. We have made a great effort to shape the form so that it offers the human body rest and support, allowing one to sit comfortably," says Simon Legald.
