Hello everyone - a small question for the experts: I've had a Sodastream Crystal 2 for about 6 years now - nota bene I'm now on my 3rd identical product and now after the usual 2 years it's slowly breaking down too: the water bubbles over when fizzing so that the bottle is empty and all the water is in the metal container. I have already decalcified and cleaned it - but that doesn't help, it seems that the sealing ring above the bottle no longer seals properly. I had the same problem with the last 2 sparklers... Does anyone know what to do about it? Unfortunately Sodastream itself does not answer questions :-(

As opposed to a question, this is more of an information to any user looking to buy this model who has had an older model or new users regarding Sodastream gas cylinders (old and new): On their website: https://sodastream.ch/fr/lechange-de-cylindre/ They exchange the cylinders without any problem and at home as well (via the mailbox). They have even introduced a system of exchanging empty cylinders for full ones, and old (screw-in) cylinders for new (click-in) ones for those who change models. So no unnecessary waste and no need to "throw" your old or empty bottles in the bin either. This way it's cheaper, currently a new bottle is 32.00 on galaxus while on their site via exchange it's 14.- (2x cheaper) and it avoids additional waste as well as the overproduction of these bottles, moreover after 2 fillings the delivery is free so what more can you ask for? If only everyone would learn more about the products they buy before shouting that it's bullshit and not ecological..., it would already be a step in the right direction. If a Galaxus administrator is reading this text, it would be wise to put this information in bold on all Sodastream products, because it is the only brand that offers such a management system for its customers. Stop throwing away your gas cylinders while saving money and time!!!

Hello, unfortunately not. The necks of the plastic water bottles from the Terra model are not compatible with this Crystal machine model. Reason: Crystal and Terra use different bottle neck shapes and locking systems. The Terra plastic bottles do not fit mechanically into the closed bottle system of the Crystal machines.

No, you cannot use this sparkling water maker with plastic bottles - it is designed exclusively for the glass bottle (0.7 litre) supplied. Plastic bottles are not compatible as they have a different thread and fitting to the glass bottle of the appliance.

The SodaStream Quick Connect CO2 cylinder with quick release fits this sparkling water maker. The classic screw-in cylinder is not compatible as this sparkling water maker uses the Quick Connect system, where the cylinder is simply clicked into place. What is the difference between this SodaStream (Crystal) and the SodaStream (Terra)? Is it the container volume? Here 0.7l, Terra 1.0l? Are there any plastic bottles that fit the Crystal, if so which ones (link)? Conversely, are there also glass bottles for the Terra 1.0l? Can these pink cylinders also be bought in supermarkets or only online?

The different systems are often not compatible with each other. So you can only use the matching glass bottles for the Crystal, because the bottles can be placed in the matching insert (clearly visible, silver-coloured, on the product picture) and then the upper part of the device (attachment) pressed down onto the bottle to fit perfectly. I don't know whether there are suitable plastic Crystal bottles. I haven't done any research on this either. The filling quantity is actually one of the differences between the devices. The cylinders can be bought and exchanged in various shops. When you buy a brand new cylinder, you pay a deposit of around 10 francs, which you then no longer have to pay when you exchange it (empty bottle for a full bottle). The easiest way to compare the various SodaStream devices is to do a Google image search with the search term "sodastream device overview".
