They all have one thing in common: wool. A sustainable raw material that has not only protected generations of people from the cold, but was also a valuable means of trade and still is among mountain peoples. In recent years, wool has been displaced by synthetic fibres as a material for sportswear. Now the warming, protective, natural and sustainable material is experiencing a renaissance. The developers at Alpina have created something unique in collaboration with lavalan, a Bavarian wool production company near Dinkelsbühl: Prolan. Wool that protects. Not just from the cold, bad smells or plastic in the sea. Prolan is sheep's wool that has been processed in such a way that its cushioning properties go beyond the functionality of conventional protectors. What sounds incredible at first, has been tested in numerous tests and confirmed by the TÜV. The new Alpina protector with Prolan meets the standard 1621-2 Level 1. Prolan is an innovation that has not been seen in the sports industry for a long time.
