Cold, wet training rides no longer have to be miserable. The CX146 is the answer to cold autumn or spring rides on the road. Designed for mild, wet weather, the CX146 is just the shoe for those days when your road shoes just aren't warm enough. The higher cadences and longer ride times typical of road cycling require excellent foot control to avoid pressure points and numbness. The Sport last has a much tighter fit than any of the off-road lasts and hugs the foot to prevent unwanted movement. This last is characterised by a close-fitting toe box, a high arch and a medium sized ball of the foot. The CX146 is built on Lake's amazing glass fibre reinforced nylon outsole. Lake's nylon sole is world-renowned for its uncompromising comfort and performance. No other injected nylon sole offers the same level of stiffness and comfort. The upper is made of softshell fabric, water-repellent microfibre, Thinsulate insulation (200 g) and a waterproof membrane, which makes the shoe an extremely water-repellent cycling shoe suitable for a wide range of conditions. The Clarino microfibre offers high durability and the suppleness of leather at a considerable weight saving. Boa Fit System M4 dial. Designed for gloves and freezing temperatures, the M4 dial defies sand, mud and ice. In combination with the Click-Fit fastening, the system makes it easy to put on and take off. The upper material is treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) coating that wears off over time.
