Vaonis CLS Filter for Vespera

With the Vespera light pollution filter or CLS filter (City Light Suppression), you can enhance the quality of your photos when observing in urban or suburban areas. It reduces the effects of light pollution, thereby increasing the contrast between the photographed celestial object and the background sky. Essential for observing from a location with high light pollution.

The filter improves the quality of nebula photography. The broadband filter blocks wavelengths from sodium and mercury, which are primarily emitted by urban night lighting or unwanted natural light, while allowing the main wavelengths of celestial objects to pass through. The light pollution filter is particularly useful for enhancing the brightness of deep-sky objects such as nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies. Due to the filtered wavelengths, it is especially effective for emission nebulae.
