I use petrol from the petrol station. But you can also use turpentine or brush cleaner. Add petrol at the end and you're good to go. Shake everything well in a pickle jar or similar or, like me, in an ultrasonic cleaner.

Cleaning petrol then acetone on a new chain! Only the first time, of course.
