Enarc gas discharge lamps, unlike halogen incandescent lamps, do not have a filament; instead, they produce light through an arc between two electrodes. This arc is generated by an electronically controlled gas discharge in a small quartz burner. The burner itself is filled with xenon gas, metal salts, and other additives. The system includes an electronic starter and an electronic ballast with a cable set. The electronic operating devices start and regulate the discharge arc.
