The behaviour is design-related and not a defect: With the Burg-Wächter Key Safe 10 SB, the reset pin can only be moved when the code "0000" is set. This is a security function so that the code cannot be changed while another code is active. Solution: Set the code correctly to 0000, open the safe, move the reset pin (to the reset position), set the desired new code and then return the reset pin to its original position. Never use force, as this can damage the mechanism.
The gears must engage correctly, which is sometimes a little "fissurey". Otherwise, follow the step-by-step instructions exactly - good luck!

I mounted the housing in the holiday home, so I can't answer the question from here. But I rather think that it is not magnetic.
I just got mine. Set it to 0000 and pressed it on with the help of a screwdriver, which I inserted into one of the mounting holes on the back/bottom.
The Burg Wächter comes with screws and dowels (for concrete wall). I have both the 10 and the 20.
