SIRIUS Soft Starter S2 72 A, 45 kW/500 V, 40 °C AC 400-600 V, AC/DC 24 V spring-loaded terminals. The SIRIUS 3RW40 soft starter is designed for standard applications to enable smooth starting and stopping of three-phase asynchronous motors. It allows for stepless starting, reduces current peaks, avoids voltage fluctuations in the supply during startup, relieves the power supply network, and decreases mechanical stress on the drive. Additionally, it offers significant space and wiring savings compared to star-delta starters and frequency converters, maintenance-free switching, and easy handling. The integrated bypass ensures a compact design and lower heating in the control cabinet. Intelligent monitoring functions protect the soft starter from overheating and the motor from overload. The current can be limited to an adjustable maximum value during startup. With the integrated remote reset, faults can be quickly and easily resolved from a distance. The soft starter has worldwide approvals (e.g., IEC and UL/CSA), including for explosion-hazardous applications (ATEX or IEC Ex). The 3RW soft starters are available for networks up to 690 V in a wide power range with different control supply voltages and come with both screw and spring-loaded connections. The 3RW30/40 series also includes additional variants with a 24 V control supply voltage. Some of the 3RW40 up to size S3, as well as all 3RW44, also offer thermistor motor protection. With the optional connection module, the soft starters can be mounted on circuit breakers, including variants with spring-loaded connections.
