He has a silky, flowing mane and a particularly beautiful, long tail. The Friese is a cross between Dutch cold-blooded horses and thoroughbred Spanish horses. With the noble blood, it is not surprising that he likes to carry his head proudly and high. Also the knees lift the Frisian with its swinging movements higher than other horse-races. This is why the Frisian is particularly popular as a dressage horse. Frisians are bred exclusively as centimes and must not have any white markings on their fur. However, they only acquire their pitch-black colour over the years. The foals are always brown at birth. The Friesian horse is one of the oldest horse breeds in Europe. They've been around since Roman times.
