Question about Dyson Airwrap Complete Long
Is it normal that the hairdryer gives up the ghost after 3 minutes on the highest setting or that you have to wait until the appliance has cooled down again?

That's definitely not normal! I use mine to dry my hair for about 15 minutes at a time and it runs until my hair is dry. I would send it back or get in touch with customer service.
