    Printer

Hello I am looking for a good printer for my home, we rarely print but we need it from time to time. The current Brother MFC-J680dw inkjet printer keeps telling me that I need to change the ink, which costs a lot. Do you have any suggestions?

Print speed and paper tray capacity

I think it's a shame that you keep stamping filters. There can never be enough filters.

"Descent" from HP Laserjet M577 to HP M479fdw

Six years ago we bought the HP M577 for our home office for CHF 1,857. Unfortunately, it seems to be slowly giving up the ghost and we are looking around for something new. Since the print volume has dropped significantly (keyword: digital office), we wanted to downsize to the HP M479fdw, i.e. less resolution, less minute performance, smaller paper tray and display etc. None of this would have been an issue for us if we hadn't read various online reports about the printer having a bad feed that makes scans crooked. Has this never been rectified in all these years (the printer has been around since 2019 to our knowledge)? Then: Many people also complained online about the software. We already found this a pain with the M577. In the meantime, we can only scan via mail, i.e. "scan to folder" no longer works. It no longer finds the folder. How do you rate this software? Is it really as bad as it was on our 2017 model? Who is an HP specialist and can say something about it?

Are there any printers that are reliable and never cause problems? I hate my HP printer!

Hey, I have an HP ENVY Photo 6200 Series printer and I just hate it so much! It causes so many problems, can't connect to the internet or my PC. I always have to go back to the printer to scan, press scan and then back to the PC and otherwise it's just annoying as hell! Now my question is has anyone had good experiences with a printer that is really reliable and never or maybe 99% error free without always having to get upset about it? Just needs to be able to print, scan and copy and not be too big and too expensive!

    Ink tank

On several models with colour tanks (new and used printers) the designations are incorrect. It incorrectly says colour cartridge, although the image clearly shows the ink tanks. This makes the search much more difficult if you have set the appropriate filters.

    Laser printer PPM

I bought a laser printer a while ago and I'm going crazy because of how slowly it prints, so I'm looking for a new one now. I noticed in the specs that the print speed is actually given in PPM, so it would be cool if that could also be a filter criterion with a slider.

Specify all paper sizes in mm (instead of cm)!

Couldn't all entries under paper size in the printer specs be specified in mm (instead of cm, and merge any duplicate entries..)?

    Duplicate filters for 'Connectivity'

Could the 'Ethernet' and 'LAN' fields under 'Connectivity' in the printer specifications be merged? They mean the same thing, after all. (To avoid confusion when filtering.)

Looking for a Bluetooth printer / no Wi-Fi

I’m looking for a printer for address labels that can connect to my mobile phone via Bluetooth. I don’t have Wi-Fi or a PC there, but I need to be able to print address labels (A4) via my mobile phone. However, when I search for Bluetooth printers here, the individual devices always list Wi-Fi as a feature. Is there a printer like that? And can anyone recommend one? Many thanks.

Problem with Canon E410 printer with external ink tanks

I have a Canon E410 printer with external ink tanks. Although all the tanks are still more than half full, I get an error message that one colour has run out and the printer has stopped printing. How can I still continue printing?

    Ink printer cartridges

Good morning Digitec, I am currently looking for a suitable inkjet printer. I have noticed that the number and name of the replacement cartridges are not listed in the product data. I have not been able to quickly and easily find the number (2, 4, 5, 6 colours) and type of cartridges for each model ;-( In my opinion, this is an important criterion when choosing a printer. Please could you somehow make this criterion visible to the customer? merci and best regards Christian Etzensberger, Schwarzenburg

    Peripherals - Printers + scanners - Printing - Printers

In the "Printer functions" filter, the items are sorted. In my opinion, this does not make sense: If I tick fax and copy function, I probably want a device that can do both.

Which multifunction printers can still print CD?

Hello all. Has anyone discovered the "CD Print" function in the filter, or does it no longer exist? I know, almost nobody needs CD/DVD/BluRay anymore.... I do ;) Currently my printer still works, but I wanted to find out what replacements are available. Merci

Printer with fully automatic dublex scan and support for Sequoia

I'm looking for a printer for my home office. Unfortunately, we have to scan a lot and on both sides. We would therefore need a multifunction printer. It would be important for it to be able to scan several pages automatically on both sides without manual intervention. We also print in colour every week and rarely copy. We have everything mac, so full AirPrint support is a must. Below are the requirements: - Price up to max. 300 - Automatic duplex printing - Automatic duplex scan - MacOS compatibility - inkjet - good photo printing - no plans or software constraints I am very grateful for any tips.

    Printer for thick paper

I have the following problem: 👉🏻 I need to print on thick paper (200 g) in A6 and A5 formats. Fortunately, I have found a printer that supports both formats and can also handle 200 g paper: the Epson ET-5850. However, the problem is: The printer can only feed thick paper via the page feeder, and I can only load a maximum of three sheets there. If I load more, the printer cannot feed the paper correctly and then reports a paper jam. The feeding problems are even worse via the printer cassette. Apart from that, I'm happy with the printer, but unfortunately I have to add paper after every third sheet, which costs me a lot of time. I assume that large printers for offices or libraries can deal with something like this better - but is there a model similar in size to the Epson ET-5850 that can do this? Thanks for any tips! 🙏🏻

Hermex cartridges not compatible with the Canon i-Sensys LBP633Cdw printer

Hello, after inserting a black "Hermex Toner compatible for Canon i-SENSYS LBP633Cdw" cartridge, the printer detected and reported a counterfeit, then was able to print a few colour pages BUT with a strange grey shaded band at the bottom of the page, AND now REFUSES to print anything by displaying the message reporting the counterfeit.on, then was able to print a few pages in colour BUT with a strange greyscale banner at the bottom of the page, AND now REFUSES to print anything by displaying the message indicating the counterfeit. Is there any way to use compatible toner with this printer, and if not, why are these cartridges sold here? Thanks in advance :)

Looking for a printer that can connect to my WLAN (WPA3)...

A very simple question. Let's see who can help me here. :) I would like to buy a printer with a built-in scanner. I would like to connect the device via WLAN. My WLAN was updated at the beginning of the year and has been working with WPA3 encryption ever since. WPA2 no longer exists in my network. Brand doesn't matter. I would like a 3 to 5-year manufacturer's warranty. (Wish!) MUST: WPA3 support

Which printer can use the more secure WPA3 standard in the WLAN?

Which printer is up to date in terms of WLAN security and can do WPA3? I have to replace my perfectly functioning HP printer because it only supports the old (obsolete) WPA and my new router no longer offers it due to lack of security. To save myself the next hassle, I'm looking for a printer that can not only do the more-or-less secure WPA2, but also WPA3.

    Filter printers by warranty period?

How can I filter printers according to the manufacturer's warranty period? Reason why I want to do this: A manufacturer that "normally" gives a 5-year warranty seems to be more convinced of its product than the competition, which only gives a 24-month warranty. For the phones, see Fairphone vs competitor. With the Fairphone, I received a 5-year warranty with no ifs and buts. In the meantime, however, it is already 5 years old. I would like to have the same experience with the printer ;) I can filter for many things, but not for the warranty period. This should be easy to implement. If other filtering is also possible, isn't it?

    Scan to network drive

I had an HP printer that was about 6 years old and unfortunately it stopped working. With this printer I was able to save the scans directly to a network drive (via SMB). However, the newer HP printers no longer seem to support this according to the specification. Is this generally the case, or are there still HP printers that allow scanning to a network drive via the display? Thanks for your help!

HP printer with copy function and compatible paper tray (550 sheets)

    Brother MFC-T920DW printer

This device is not supplied with instructions in German. The operation of the device is also not available in German. I would be interested to know whether the device can be operated with the Control Centre 4 for the scanner.
