Thank you Digi that you have already recorded the DS1819+ in response to my request yesterday :) Now I just have to hope that the WD RED 10TB will be cheaper during the BlackFriday-Sale... I need 8pcs of them :D WD Red (10TB, 3.5", NAS, Storage Systems)

Unfortunately, we don't know in advance whether the memory will be cheaper on Black Friday. But I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :-)

I would like to migrate my DS412+ to e.g. this DS1819+. The DS412+ has 4 x 3 TB in a RAID5 array. Can I easily install these HDs in the DS1819+, add 4 new 3TB and run the whole thing as RAID6? Or what do you recommend?

I wouldn't bet that the disks will be recognised 1:1 after the conversion. Even if this should be possible according to Synology under "HDD Migration".
With such a migration it is always advisable to back up the data separately on other data carriers so as not to be left with nothing if a migration goes wrong.

The RAID type can be changed afterwards, but not without restrictions.
