The black border is normal with this combination because the lens is made for cameras with an APS-C/DX sensor. This is smaller than the full-frame sensor of the 5D IV. That's why APS-C lenses can be built more cheaply. Respect, by the way, to a 5D IV for 2'500.- to use an I-can-do-anything-but-really-good lens for 400.-.

Theoretically yes, with a Canon EF to Sony E mount adapter and in crop mode. One has to bear in mind that this lens is an APS-C lens and accordingly offers a lot of vignetting with full-frame cameras. Apart from that, this megazoom is not exactly a resolution monster and can only be recommended to a limited extent.

This lens is designed exclusively for APS-C cameras. It therefore has a smaller image circle than lenses for full-frame sensors. When this lens is used with a full-frame camera, there will be shading (vignetting) of the edge of the image.

Hello Evelyne The Tamron AF 18-400mm is PS-C / DX . So it is compatible with the Nikon D5000. But you are asking the question about the Canon model. You have to order the model for Nikon! (available at Digitec).

The Canon EOS 6D II is a full frame camera. However, the Tamron AF 18-400mm lens is designed for so-called APS-C cameras. With the short focal lengths of 15 - about 30mm, the image corners are cut off and displayed round.

it's actually quite simple: 1 year is the legal warranty, during this time digitec has to take care of repair / replacement. the extended warranty is granted by tamron directly, i.e. in the event of a warranty claim you either have to communicate directly with tamron or expect digitec to send you an invoice for processing.

Does the part also go on a Sony Alpha 6000?

I have tried it and it is not satisfactory. You need an adapter for Emount. I tried the Sigma one. The autofocus did not work with it.

Good day The Tamron AF 18-400mm with the Canon EF mount can be used on a Sony, you just need a mount converter. I have the Sigma MC11 converter which works very well on the Sony. The autofocus works very badly or not at all. It always depends on what focal length you use, with tele it works very badly. But all the Exif data is transferred, which is very good. With this lens on the Sony I only shoot with FOCUS PEAKING then the pictures are just great. But if you want to work with autofocus and that's all you want to use, then it's not a good choice.
