Swisscom TV runs without any problems via this switch and an Asus ASUS AC1900 router... As far as I know, however, this should work with all switches. A switch is only a passive element in the network, so the router must support these functions.

I was able to do some research and according to the manufacturer's specifications I could not find any significant differences. I assume that small internet changes/improvements have been made in V5, but the end results remain the same compared to V3, so I conclude that the differences are not noticeable for the end user.

The bandwidth of the Zyxel GS-108B v3 switch is managed in such a way as to optimise data transfers, but it is not distributed strictly equally between all the ports when they are used simultaneously. - The switch uses a store-and-forward transmission architecture and has a non-blocking switching fabric of 16 Gbps, which means it can manage network traffic efficiently without blocking ports. - It has QoS (Quality of Service) ports to prioritise bandwidth for critical applications, such as VoIP and data communications. The GS-108B v3 has 4 QoS ports with high and medium priority mechanisms. - Even if all ports are in use, the switch intelligently adjusts power consumption and manages network traffic according to active connections and cable length, in compliance with the IEEE 802.3az standard for energy-efficient Ethernet. However, this does not mean that the bandwidth is distributed equally between all ports, but rather that the switch optimises the use of the available bandwidth to minimise losses and variations. In short, the switch manages bandwidth optimally using QoS ports and an efficient transmission architecture, but bandwidth is not distributed strictly equally between all ports when they are all in use.
