Forgive my technical ignorance, but can't problems arise, such as a battery that "deteriorates" faster when charging smartphones with third-party adapters?

Hi

You are certainly not doing anything wrong with the charger.
Basically it is like this:
The voltage V must correspond to that of the original power supply.
Now this power supply delivers a maximum of 3A (current). This must either be exactly the same or greater than the value of the original.
If your mobile phone requires a lower charging current than the 3A here, only 2A will flow.

So

let's write it down again:
Voltage (volts) must be correct 1:1. Current (amperes) must be 1:1 or greater than the original power supply.

With third-party providers, the smartphone notices by the colour of the power that it is not original power. Samsung, for example, only accepts blue power. The data sheet will tell you which colour of power the device charges with ;) . The battery will be permanently damaged if it is charged in the wrong colour for a long time. They are not rainbow batteries....
