Is there a way to use an ereader without logging in? I get the books from the PC and would download it via cable to the device.
I don't want my reading behaviour to be recorded anywhere; as soon as I buy a book via ereader, there are ads again and so on.

It all works without ever turning on the Wi-Fi on the device, so it works without an account. I do it exactly as you suggested.
