Product details

The essence of systemic thinking lies in a simple but momentous distinction: that between system and environment. It requires that different system-environment distinctions be made for different kinds
of systems. Biological, psychological, and social processes are interrelated: where attention focuses on psychological systems, social and biological systems are environments, respectively. Where social systems are focused on, psychological and biological systems are environments. It is not possible to grasp a distinction that would underlie or derive from all other distinctions - except just the formal and general one between system(s) and environment(s). This approach is often experienced as a provocation, as it seems to be the idea of the whole human being and of a human identity.
