It has been filled with carbonated mineral water almost daily for over a year and has never leaked so far. The metal pin on the hinged joint can slip out to the side over time if it pops open hard. However, it can be pushed back into place with a pointed object. Would buy the bottle again at any time.

We also use the bottle for carbonated drinks. It works so far. It just pops quite a bit when you open it. We haven't tried sweet drinks yet.

We only fill it with water.
