The TiAlN wear protection coating increases the surface hardness of the tool to approximately 3,000 HV/microhardness and the hot hardness resistance up to 900 °C. It is characterized by high toughness as well as high thermal and chemical stability, contributing to longer tool life and cutting performance. The TiAlN coating is suitable for dry machining. It is particularly well-suited for machining unalloyed and alloyed steels (up to 1,200 N/mm²), high-chromium alloyed steels such as V2A and V4A, as well as cast steel and tough brass.

An advanced cutting geometry has achieved significantly improved cutting behavior, positively impacting cutting performance and tool life. The optimized cutting geometry ensures increased chip removal performance and reduced cutting forces. The chip angles are designed for universal use with various types of steel.

Improved chip removal is facilitated by a U-shaped chip break. The special geometry of the chip break reduces the thermal load on the HSS core drill, as the heat generated during machining is largely dissipated with the chip. Additionally, friction between the HSS core drill and the workpiece is reduced through optimized spiral-shaped guiding phases.

The product can be used in all column and magnetic stand drilling machines with Morse taper in conjunction with RUKO holders or with Weldon shank direct clamping.
