* USB-C1 at the bottom of the monitor: 96W
* USB-C2 on the side of the monitor: 15W
* WebCam can be extended at the top of the monitor: YES (compatible for Windows login with face recognition)
Ja, das siehst du richtig: User Guide Seite 22 = 'This monitor accepts a 100mm x 100mm VESA-Compliant mounting interface.' Den UG kannst du dir von der philips product page gratis runterladen.
Hello,
The monitor has a built-in 5 megapixel camera that can be retracted when not needed, but it is also in the technical data sheet and you can see it in the centre of the picture
When we talk about 4K, 5K or 8K, we are only referring to the number of horizontal pixels. In this case, you have 5K, but the overall resolution is lower than with a UHD monitor. You can also notice a difference if you pay attention.
UPDATE!!!
After what felt like 3 hours of research:
Reset the monitor configurations -> install the software from Philips https://www.philips.ch/c-p/49B2U5900CH_01/curved-business-monitor-329-superwide-curved-monitor-mit-usb-c/support -> update the monitor firmware -> additionally connect with the USB B cable.
Now the wake-up works via the keyboard.
LG and have fun with the 49B2U5900CH
Regarding Low Blue Mode, I received the following answer from Philips technical support on 26.2.2024:
'Low Blue mode is implicitly/permanently active from FW v1.05, therefore the OSD option (menu option) is no longer available'.
my yoga laptop is from 2020 and the monitor runs on the built-in <Intel UHD Graphics 620> via usb-c connection and then brings the full 5K resolution.
via hdmi on my laptop it only brings 3800x1400 or something like that, because of probably too old hdmi standard of my laptop.
if your laptop has a usb-c monitor connection, it should probably work with the monitor and 5k.
BUT, after the firmware upgrade to version 1.06 (I have just tested it) I only have 7 modes! I also had no picture after the firmware upgrade to version 1.06 and had to reset the monitor (via SmartControl software).
I have connected two notebooks via USB-C. This works perfectly so far. I can display both computers at the same time, as well as switch computers using the on-screen buttons and the KVM (i.e. keyboard and mouse) also switch. What doesn't work, however, is switching with the HotKey. The instructions say that you can switch from one computer to another by pressing Ctrl 3 times. After pressing three times, nothing happens at all. After pressing twice, a bright circle about 5cm in size appears around the mouse and the rest of the screen is darkened (like a kind of spotlight). I don't understand what the point of this is. Does switching via HotKey work for anyone? And if so, what am I doing wrong?
Hello to all proud 49B2U5900CH owners and product experts.
Is it just me or do you also experience that when you close your laptop, the monitor cannot be brought out of sleep mode?
Even if the laptop is locked and closed, the monitor doesn't want to know anything about it until I switch the monitor off and on again.
The monitor only reacts when it is switched on.
My constellation:
- Surface Laptop Studio 2
- Surface USB C Dock(New Gen.)
- Connected to the monitor via USB-C
- Mouse/keyboard dongle already tested on both variants (on the monitor and on the external dock)
On the device side, I am sure that the problem is neither with my PC nor with the dock.
To make sure, I tested another monitor in the same constellation (without integrated dock). The monitor starts up when the keyboard or mouse is moved.
Thanks in advance for your expertise.
Hello
I work mainly from home and have 2 Dell S2721DS monitors. I have 2 laptops connected to these 2 screens (1 x for private use / 1 x business). I have connected the peripherals (keyboard, mouse, camera, headphones, printer) via a USB switch using a USB splitter. The private laptop has an Aspire 517-53G display card. I don't know about the business laptop. I am currently working with a resolution of 2560 x 1940 59 HZ and have extended the desktop of the respective laptop to both screens. I am now wondering whether I could replace the existing configuration with this 49B2U5900 CH. My idea is to have, for example, one application (e.g. Word) open on the left side of the OS and another application open on the right side and work with them simultaneously (i.e. I don't want one application to be minimised when the other application is clicked).
Now my questions:
- Is a 49B... usable in the same way as the view on 2 extended screens?
- Can the 49B... also be used in the home office (and not as a gaming screen)? If the resolution of the screen is larger (5120 x 1440 pixels) than /2560 x
1940), does this mean that the screen can be used with the highest resolution of the graphics card (2560 x 1940)?
- Does it make sense to replace 2x S2721 screens with 1x 49B ... and will I have the same result?
Many thanks for your valuable tips
Stéphane
Unfortunately my Philips 49" monitor had a 2mm pixel error and I will probably get the replacement today or tomorrow. That's why I haven't really been able to test it or gain any experience yet.
Answer to question 1: definitely yes / question 2: also yes / question 3: yes & no / A 49" monitor is certainly the more modern and simpler solution than 2 individual 27" monitors. However, you can set up two 27" monitors more flexibly. If you are happy with the 2 x 27" monitors, I would tend to keep it that way.
