Roline HDMI 4K2K Audio Extractor LPCM 7.1
Roline HDMI 4K2K Audio Extractor LPCM 7.1
Unfortunately not. The following audio signals are supported via HDMI: 2CH, LPCM5.1, LPCM7.1, Bitstream 5.1, Bitstream 7.1
Thank you for your reply. No, I want to connect speakers to my PC sound card and be able to switch to PS5 sound. To do this I was thinking of using the HDMI Audio Extractor and the 2 port 3.5mm Jack switching box. Connect the speakers to the switching box and one output to the PC sound card and another to the extractor.
I have had no problems with the PS4 so far
From my point of view, the device works correctly, but I did not get the desired result with the device either. However, in my case it was probably because I did not need 5.1 or even 7.1 sound, but was hoping for a simple stereo output (i.e. 2.0 or 2.1). My explanation for the failure in my case is that the entire sound volume of 5.1/7.1 is distributed to all connected speakers and the entirety can only be heard again if all devices are really connected in the intended frequency range and spatially correctly positioned. This means that each of the sockets of the Roline unit does not contain the entire sound range, even the FL/FR socket, since "speech", for example, is always output via the "centre". After some tinkering, I therefore bought an alternative: the "Marmitek Connect AE24 UHD Audio Extractorder" (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/marmitek-connect-ae24-uhd-audio-extractor-switch-box-7944666), because it mixes the entire sound range onto one stereo socket - this now works perfectly for my needs. Maybe this will help you too...
If I understand your question correctly, you have to make sure that the source (TV, PS4) is set to the corresponding coder (Bitstream DTS or Dolby, LPCM) and that the decoder is also switched accordingly. Otherwise, the audio will be played back corruptly (as in my case) or even not at all.
i mean yes. i can't tell what it's like when nothing at all is connected to the hdmi output. but i can only hear the audio from the content sent to the extractor via the stereo system, even when the tv is switched off. good thing!
that's how I use the extractor and it works for me: HDMI device (in my case NVIDIA Shield TV) -> Extractor -> HDMI OUT to TV -> 3 Cinch Analog 3.5mm to Logitech 5.1 Surround system (woofer + speaker). I see nothing that speaks against the use, as you have indicated.
